In Loving Memory of Jennifer Lynn Byers
Sunrise: April 4, 1978 Sunset: October 15, 2025
Jennifer Lynn Byers, age 47, peacefully transitioned from this life on October 15, 2025, at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Jennifer was an extraordinary woman who lived life with curiosity, kindness, and purpose. Though she was diagnosed with Asperger's (autism spectrum disorder), she achieved remarkable academic success throughout her education in the Aldine and Klein Independent School Districts. She went on to earn two college degrees—a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Science in Information Security from Western Governors University. At the time of her passing, Jennifer was pursuing her Master's degree in Information Security while living in Provo, Utah.
Jennifer had a deep love for learning. She thrived on reading, research, computers, photography, and exploring the wonders of herbs, whole foods, and excellent nutrition. Travel was one of her greatest joys—she loved discovering new places across the United States. As a young girl, she flew to visit her paternal grandparents in Florida, where she enjoyed riding bikes, playing cards, and swimming in the community pool. It was during this time that she learned to type, a skill that would later serve her well in her chosen profession of computer networking and information security.
After graduating from the University of Houston, Jennifer walked into a job interview and was hired on the spot for her exceptional skills and knowledge in the Linux operating system. She held multiple professional certifications in networking and was highly respected in her field. Her greatest professional accomplishment was her ability to help others—she took pride in solving computer issues and finding creative, "outside the box" solutions.
Above all, Jennifer will be remembered for her gentle spirit and compassionate heart. She was kind, intelligent, and deeply thoughtful—a loving daughter, sister, and friend who simply wanted to live fully and enjoy life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jennifer is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Patricia Byers of Spring, Texas; her brother, Andrew Byers, his wife Jessica, and their children Kelly, James, and Ivy of Parker, Colorado; her cousin Suz Byers of Boulder, Colorado; her uncle and aunt Richard and Linda Forsythe of Butler, Pennsylvania; and her cousins Bonnie Forsythe of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Jay Forsythe of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Paul and Ruth Byers of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and her maternal grandparents, Alfred and Frances Forsythe of Forest Park, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jennifer's memory to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, One Schenley Park, Pittsburgh, PA 15213-3830.
