On December 1,1957 Mary Kathryn Veal was born to Elbert and Katherine Veal. Kathy was the sixth child of seven children. She grew up in Houston, Tx where she attended and graduated Kashmere High School.

At an early age Kathy obeyed the gospel and was baptized at Pleasent Hill Baptist Church.

Kathy began her working career at the V.A. Hospital in 1981, where she worked for many years. Later in life she began a new career as a Lab Technician at Labcorp Inc for 12 years until she retired in late 2023.

The people that knew her, loved her instantly with her angelic warm smile and energetic feisty spirit.

Kathy loved her children, family and friends with all her heart and soul until God called her home.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father Elbert Veal Sr; her mother Katherine Veal; sisters Joyce Adams, Rose Mary Coleman and Linda Veal. Her brothers; Elbert Veal Jr
Melvin Veal and Douglas Veal. Her beloved son Kennel Fontenot.

Kathy leaves to cherish her loving son and daughter in-law, LeTwan Veal ( Eureka), her grandchildren TaTyana Veal, LeTwan Veal ll, and Darrell Veal. Godchildren; Erin Davis, Zaiden Battiste and A'amiyah Stewart and host of nephews, nieces family and friends and her beloved Pleasant Hill B.C. family.

Mary Katheryn Veal departed this life September 13, 2024. Visitation Saturday September 28, 2024, from 9-11am. Funeral 11am. Services will be held Pleasant Hill B.C. 1510 Pannell St. Interment Paradise North Cemetery.
