Patricia Ann
Alexander Galvin
March 19, 1954 – September 19, 2025
Patricia Ann Alexander-Galvin, born March 19, 1954, to Mary and Willie Alexander in Independence, Louisiana, was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose heart was as big as her smile. The youngest and only daughter of six children, she was raised in the Church of God in Christ and carried her faith throughout her life. A graduate of Hammond High School and Southeastern Louisiana University, Patricia began her career as a social worker before moving to Houston, Texas, where she furthered her education with a Master's in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. She dedicated her life to serving others through teaching, ministry, and nearly two decades as a Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Refreshing Springs Counseling.
Patricia's faith in Jesus Christ guided everything she did. A longtime member of Lakewood Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher, Stephens Minister, and volunteer, always finding joy in encouraging others. She was a voracious reader, a curious learner, and a woman who never stopped growing in her personal and spiritual journey. Whether in the classroom, counseling room, or church sanctuary, Patricia poured wisdom, compassion, and practical guidance into the lives of countless people.
Beyond her professional and spiritual life, Patricia was a gifted homemaker and a vibrant presence. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, and decorating, and she kept her home filled with warmth, humor, and style. A devoted mother and grandmother, Patricia cherished her children—Randal (Asia), Mary (Keithon), and Melissa—and her six grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on September 19, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Patricia is survived by her brothers Charles, Robert, and Larry, along with a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Willie, and brothers Glenn and Frank. Patricia's legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on in the many lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed until we meet again.
Patricia Alexander Galvin departed this life September 19, 2025. Visitation Saturday September 27, 2025, from 9:30am.-10am. Funeral 10am. Services will be held at Lakewood Church 3700 Southwest Freeway, Interment Paradise North Cemetery.
