LIFE'S JOURNEY

"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:" 2 Timothy 4:8

Pauletta Elaine Ramos Pearson transitioned to her eternal home on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Memorial Hermann NW Hospital, ready to receive her crown. She was born on November 27, 1954, in  Columbia, Missouri to Ernest and Geraldine Ramos. Her family relocated to the Fifth Ward area of Houston, Texas. After the death of her Mother (when Pauletta was only eight years old), her family moved to the Oates Prairie Community where her Great Aunt, Louvenia Potts, raised her and her siblings. She attended Pleasantville Elementary, McReynolds Jr. High, and graduated from Furr High School. Pauletta accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and was a member of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with New Macedonia Baptist Church, where she was a member for 50+ years and maintained her membership until her death. She served in the following capacities: NMBC Enstep Cheerleaders, BTU  Director, NMBC Players Extraordinaire, Sanctuary Ensemble, Dynamic Crusaders, Wednesday Prayer Meeting Hostess, Youth Movement, and J.E. Meritus Singers.  Pauletta was formerly married to Lawrence Glenn Pearson, and to this union her one and only child, Justin Glenn Pearson, was born.

Pauletta was employed by Texas Health and Human Services Commission for 32 years where she was a hardworking employee until her retirement.

In addition to her devoted and loving son, Justin, Pauletta's pride and joy were her granddaughters, Paige (Pepi) and Brynn (Squat). They brought her so much joy and filled her life with love. She was proud of their growing accomplishments and supported them in all of their activities. She also took every opportunity to talk to them about God. Having helped raise her younger sisters, Francine, Toni and Niecy afforded her great pride. She cherished the bond she shared with her older sister, Sandra. Pauletta was a woman of strong faith, and truly loved the Lord. She never missed an opportunity to share God's word with anyone she came in contact with. She loved to cook and was always ready to bless others with her delicious cakes and various dishes. In addition to cooking, Pauletta loved watching the NBA games. She could critique most of the players as if she knew each of them personally.

Pauletta was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Geraldine Ramos, her dear Aunt, Louvenia Potts (Aunt Lou), and her sister, Francine Ramos Green.

Pauletta's memories will forever be cherished by her dear son, Justin; her granddaughters, Paige and Brynn Pearson; her sisters, Toni Ramos, Sharon Stevenson (Daniel) of Houston, TX, and Sandra McCoy of Fresno, CA; brother, Cornel Finney of CA; God Mother, Mrs. Odessa Morris; God-brothers, James, Ricky and Mark Morris; brother-in-law, Jeffery Green; Special Cousins, Kay McGowan and Pat Angel; close friends, Brenda Williams and Ruby Bradshaw; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
