Ursula Evette
Shelton
March 10, 1965 – February 9, 2026
Ursula Evette Shelton, a native of Whitewright, Texas, and longtime resident of the Greater Houston area, passed away after a courageous battle with kidney failure.
She was one of several siblings and is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Beverly, Gloria, and Glenda, and her brothers, Terry and Curtis Jr. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews—Carla, Chelsea, Courtney, Terese, Tawney, Troy, and Terry Jr. —and many other beloved family members and friends, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Ursula earned her degree in Business Administration Management from Texas Southern University as a non-traditional student in her thirties—an accomplishment she was especially proud of. She dedicated many years to education and worked over twenty years as a buyer before stepping away due to health challenges.
She found joy in gardening, reading, sewing, jewelry making and beading, listening to music, and bargain shopping. Her faith was a steady foundation in her life and carried her through every season. She shared a home with her beloved mother, Betty, and treasured their time together. She also adored her cat, Charlie.
She will be remembered for her quiet strength, deep faith, creativity, perseverance, and loving spirit.
Ursula Evette Shelton departed this life February 9, 2026. Visitation Saturday February 21, 2026, from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral 10:30am. Services will be held at Greater Pleasant Grove Baptist Church 1823 Dewalt St. Houston, Texas 77088.
