Valerie F.
Wrenn
December 29, 1958 – March 5, 2025
Valerie Wrenn was born on December 29, 1958, to Ellis Wrenn and Virginia Wrenn (née Redd), in Brooklyn, New York. Valerie was the second youngest of five siblings—Ellis Wrenn Jr., Lawrence Wrenn, Regina Wrenn, and Andrei Wrenn. From an early age, she radiated warmth, kindness, and an incredible generosity that defined her life. She had the biggest heart and always put others before herself, ensuring those around her felt loved and cared for.
After leaving New York, Valerie moved to Boston, where she worked as a procurement buyer for Honeywell. Her keen eye for detail and strong work ethic set her apart, allowing her to thrive in her role. She later took a leap of faith into entrepreneurship, founding Engineering Management Support, Inc., a business she successfully ran for over 25 years. Her dedication and leadership earned her several awards for being a woman-owned small business leader. Never one to stop learning, she later went back to school and proudly earned her associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, proving that determination and perseverance have no limits.
Valerie was a devoted mother to her son, Edward Wrenn, whom she loved beyond measure. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to Edward Jr. and Evan, whom she adored and cherished. She shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings, especially her brother Lawrence and sister Regina, who remained by her side through life's joys and challenges.
She also had a special place in her heart for her nephews, Ronald Leaks and Michael Grier, and her niece, Samantha Grier, whom she loved like her own.
Valerie's presence lit up every room she entered. She was a source of comfort, laughter, and strength, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. Her legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived not only by her family but also by a multitude of friends and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and generosity.
She is survived by her son, Edward Wrenn; her brother, Lawrence Wrenn; her sister, Regina Wrenn; her beloved grandchildren, Edward Jr. and Evan; her nephews, Ronald Leaks and Michael Grier; and her niece, Samantha Grier. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Ellis Wrenn Jr. and Andrei Wrenn.
A celebration of Valerie's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Ross Mortuary, 3618 Lyons Avenue, Houston, TX 77020. The viewing will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with memorial services immediately following.
In honor of her giving spirit, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, acts of kindness be shared with someone in need—just as Valerie always did.
Her love was boundless, her kindness unmatched, and her memory will forever be a blessing.
