Wendolyn Joyce Vallien was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin and friend.  She left this world suddenly on June 2, 2021 at age 61 after losing her bout with lung cancer.  Wendolyn is survived by her husband, Gary Gulley, son Marco Lawrence Vallien, grandson Corey Vallien and her siblings, Michael Vallien, Sr., Sharon Meeks, the twins, Andrae Vallien and Andrea Vallien, and several aunts, nephews, a niece and cousins.

Wendolyn, better known as "Penny", was born to Lawrence Vallien, Jr. and Anna Bell Smith Vallien on November 11, 1959, the same birthday as her mother, in the state of Louisiana.  She was a proud graduate of the Ross Shaw Sterling High School, in Houston's South Park community, as part of the class of 1977.  After high school, Penny would begin her college career at the University of Houston and later finished an Associates degree in Jacksonville, Florida.

Penny lived out her final years married to Gary Gulley where she found love, happiness and peace of mind. Penny is well loved by her family and friends, and her fiery and adventurous spirit will be greatly missed.

Wendolyn Joyce Vallien Gulley departed this life June 2, 2021. Visitation Saturday June 5, 2021, from 8-10am. Funeral 10am. Services will be held in the Chapel of Ross Mortuary 3618 Lyons Ave. Houston, Tx. 77020.
